Re: //c power supply
> : Hi all,
I have a //c without the regular power brick. I'm trying to run it off
a PC Peripheral power connector (5,25" floppy, HD). From it's
specs, the PC supply should yield 12V/3A. After consulting some sites,
I think I have the connection on the Apple side OK.
When I switch on the machine, I get a green light for power, the
screen shows "Apple //c", the drive does it's headbanging exercise and
the red light comes on.
Apart from that, nothing. I've tried different disks. The keyboard is
dead apart from the reset and drop into monitor commands.
Now for the question (finally): Do you think the Apple is dead or am I
missing something with the power supply?
Thanks in advance, Robert

Well, it's all according to http://www.fsref.com/Fatal/FE140600.SHTML
I have cross-connected pins 2-3 and 5-6.
Does the //c mind the difference in voltage between 12V (PC) and 15V
(brick)?
Thanks, Robert
