I made a bootable System 6.0.1 install CD a while back with the assistance
of a little utility I wrote:

It creates a partition table, which you can then combine with any mix of
ProDOS and/or HFS filesystem images.  After verifying that the image is a
multiple of 2048 bytes in length, you can burn the image with whatever
burning software you normally use (for me, that's Nero).  It's been tested
under Linux and Windows (via Cygwin), but should also build under Mac OS X.

(The easiest way to make images of ProDOS floppy disks is to create
disk-image archives with ShrinkIt or GSHK and uncompress them to files with
NuLib.  Making an image of a hard-disk partition would be a little more
difficult; while I've never tried it, I would think you could use a Linux
system with a SCSI card and Mac partition-table support.  dd the partition
from /dev/sdwhatever to a file on a mounted ext2 or FAT filesystem and
you're done.)
