Put it this way - I have previously managed to insert chips backwards,
dropped, /washed/, cracked a board and done countless other things to Apple
][s and haven't killed them.
Like Michael says - what's the sticky stuff? The Apple wouldn't have had a
heatsink or anything, so it's not going to be thermal compound...

Reseat the ROMs. However, if you have a dead //e, I'm in need of a spare PSU
in case I manage to get a 110v platinum ;). Did you swap the 6502 with the
//e?
