     Good thing, too! Our IIgs runs fine with the "slip on" battery obtained from Nite Owl in the early 1990's.

     A place which offers compatible batteries at attractive prices is All Electronics ( http://www.allcorp.com ). Their #LBAT-40 lithium battery (3.6V at 2.25AH) should keep a IIgs going for at least another 10 years.
