Apple II Questions

Hi,

Recently I've been working getting my ancient Apple II back into tip top
shape and have a couple of issues that still need attention and was looking
for ideas.

    1) I have a flakey connection on the motherboard, that has becoming far
less frequent in nature do to the reseating of some components. I was
thinking of spraying some tuner cleaner on the suspect areas and see if that
would improve things further. Any thoughts on that.

    2) Besides that, I think I may have a problem with DRAM, as some large
programs such as kermit and single disk copy, just will not run, though DOS
does. I found a program on an old floppy called "RAM TEST" that apparently
is failing, but am unsure about how to intrepret the results. Is anyone
familiar with this program or have a suggestion on another diagnostic
program that I could download through the command line from a serial card (I
can't seem to get communications programs to work properly).

    3) Also I have a DISK II digital card that has a couple of chips (the
proms) with some rework on them. That is lifted pins and a bit of wiring on
them. This card is operating fine, but I'm wondering if anyone is familiar
with this rework and why it was done?

    4) Finally, is there an easy way to tell whether a 5.25" disk has DOS
3.3 or 3.2 on it?

    Regards,
    Mike Willegal
