Jay Edwards and I have found a fix for IIc+ floppy drives which keep
running when using A2Desktop v1.1. The problem is caused by a bug in the
firmware.
By using a program called Hook by Bill Tudor, we have quieted the running
drives which can be easily restarted again. The fix is 3 files - 2 BASIC
programs called No.Floppies and Yes.Floppies and a new Selector.List
which allows use of simple Open-Apple commands to disconnect and reconnect
the drives quickly when needed.
You can download the 3 files in a package called IIc+DrvStop.shk and
an instruction sheet called IIc+DrvStop.txt free at:
http://www.chebucto.ca/Service/PDA/appleII.shtml
(look under Apple II Miscellaneous programs)
Hook is owned by SoftDisk LLC and can be purchased on SoftDisk #98 for
$5.00 USD from Syndicomm at: www.syndicomm.com
(look under their online store).
