LC IIe card reading files as forked

Hi there,

I've set up my newly acquired LC IIe card, and it's working fine off 
disks and ProDOS hard disk partitions with files copied off disks from 
my "real" //e.

Having a couple of glitches, and thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas.

Setup: LC 575 with 36MB RAM, 1GB HD (tried with 40MB, too), OS 7.5.5

Glitch the first: ProDOS partitions aren't automounting
I have checked the volume settings for the ProDOS partitions and they 
are both set to Automout, but they don't automount. No huge drama - I 
just have Drive Setup in my Startup Items and I can mount them from 
there. Does anyone know of how to get these to really automount, either 
truly automatically, or via a script or utility?

Glitch the second: Files from another Mac show as "forked"
I haven't gotten the Internet set up on the LC575 yet (will probably 
have to setup a PPP server on our Mac OS X server, and login to it over 
a serial adaptor, or maybe I'll use my SCSI to Ethernet adaptors if I'm 
feeling brave!), so I'm relying on my Mac OS X PowerBook G4 to download 
files, which I then burn to an HFS Standard CD using Toast, which I then 
load on the LC, then either copy to floppies or the ProDOS partitions. 
So far, this has been almost exclusively ShrinkIt files.

When I try to open the ShrinkIt archives, or even just copy them using 
ShrinkIt, it complains about the files being forked. I have not tried to 
open the files before they get to the LC 575. I've used various Resource 
fork zapping utils to make sure they don't have a resource fork. I've 
even logged into the LC 575 from my //e with a WorkStation Card, and 
been able to extract the files from the ShrinkIt archive residing on the 
Mac's HFS partition from the //e's copy of ShrinkIt, so the file is 
fine. There's just something about how the LC card is accessing the 
files which is being screwy.

Any suggestions on the above would be very much appreciated.
