Re: Apple //e variants

Hi there,
my Apple //e shows "Apple //e" on startup, and works with my WorkStation
Card, implying it's an enhanced //e. However, it doesn't diplay
MouseText (inverted characters only). I'm not sure if it's an incomplete
"manual" upgrade, as I got it free off an elderly gentleman who wouldn't
be able to help me with its history.
Is there any way I can check the appropriate chips and/or get the
machine "up to spec"?
Since it shows //e at startup it has to have the enhanced CD and EF
ROMs. You can check the processor to see if it's a 65c02. The video
ROM in an unenhanced IIe is a 342-0132 so if you have any other part
number there it has to be enhanced. The video ROM is located at the
front of the motherboard inline with the processor and MMU.
