Ditto. Get a newer bigger drive, use a bunch of 32mb Prodos partition.
Then some HFS partitons to use the remaining space.

I believe the main downside of HFS partitions on a IIgs is the lack of
disk utilities to check, fix, restore, etc. - keep that in mind when
you consider how to use these partitions.
