Hello,
I have been looking for an Apple IIe emulator which supports the
SuperSerial card. So far I found one that does:
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/4414/index.html
At least with this the program I am trying to run recognizes that the
SuperSerial card is in the system. I am at a standstill however. I
still can not get the Apple program to talk to the serial device it
controls. It works fine on a real Apple IIe but so far not within the
emulator as I had hoped. If anyone could provide some insight or help
I would be extremely grateful. According to my docs the SuperSerial
board is configured for MODEM via a jumper, with the switches in bank
1 0001111 and bank 2 1111000 this should be communications mode,
9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, no linefeeds, and no
interrupts. Two questions come up. First, is that a configuration
that is supported by any of the emulators? Second, if that is
supported, any idea where I can find the mappings to convert the
25-pin connector from the Apple to either a 9-pin or 25-pin connector
for a PC? The cable I have plugs into a standard DB-25 connector on
the SuperSerial card. If I can get the mappings I can make up a new
cable or adapter.
In case you are wondering what all this is for I am trying to use the
original Apple IIe control software and I/R communications POD to
control and Androbot TOPO II robot. It would be fantastic to be able
to run the robot from a laptop computer. If this works I can suggest
it to friends who face similar challenges.
Thank You,
Robert
