The II becomes a "dumb" terminal, all it runs is Apple Access or ProTerm, all the internet software (for my ISP) runs on Sun machines. They have 56K modem connections, but as you know, 56K can talk at 150, 300, 1200, 2400 baud. How did you accomplish such a feat? I am intrigued to know more. Are using a text-based telnet program on Apple IIe? Does your ISP support the older connection type and lower baud rates? Or is the Internet being shared to Apple IIe, and therefore run as a terminal? thanks...
I just lauched Putty and logged into a shell account from this PC. The only noticable difference from the II is the speed.
BTW, when my sons' only access to the internet was with IIs and we moved up from 1200 to 9600 baud, some things never improved (like IRC), evidently that's because Apple Access has REALLY slow screen refreshing.
