When someone says electrical interface, just the pinouts
is not an issue. There could be other more complex issues
involved.

Could be a simple patch, but I doubt it. If they
used address lines A0-A3 to send commands to the
drive, then maybe, but if they used A4-A7, then
I kind of question whether you could "simply"
write a patch that would work. Disk Drivers are
not written in a straight thru, and loop to the
beginning manner. They jump about in a rather
erratic fashion. The firmware would need to be
disassembled and studied in order to determine
whether it would even be possible. Sorry to say
that nothing is "that" simple. If it were, I would
have had lots of software written by now. 8o)
