My sister gave me an Epson inkjet printer a few years ago but I didn't
even set it up for some time and when I did get around to it, most of
the nozzles had clogged up and I couldn't get them clean again.

I haven't been too concerned about whether IIgs drivers actually exist
for whatever printer I get because I can always write my own.  If I
get to keep the HP LaserJet 4050 that my brother lent me, I'll
probably write a driver for it so that I can make better use of its
capabilities.  The Harmonie driver only supports up to PCL 3 and I
believe this 4050 supports up to PCL 6.

See above for my experience with an Epson.  :-)

For many years now I have wanted to get a Canon bubblejet printer and
still haven't.  If I ever do get a colour printer, I will definitely
check into bubblejets again.  However, I have heard that some of the
new inkjet printers now replace the print heads when you change the
ink cartridge as well so Canon's advantage here may no longer exist.
