There was an article in Byte about small computers, and it was interesting
how derivitive it all was, and how they didn't have the capacity for
so much integration, so something like a CPU might be spread over a few
ICs.

I can't remember if it mentioned the Apple, I suspect since it was a popular
computer elsewhere.  Even worse I can't remember when the article ran,
otherwise I could look it up relatively easily.  I'd place it after 1985,
and likely no later than 1989, but I'm not certain,
