I don't know if this is stricly true personally I feel it is due to the
Internet's rise and the subsequent proliferation of copyright theft which has
led to much more publicity being given to the issue. Especially when involving
the music /movie industry which has always been pretty pro-active in prosecuting
and protecting its assets. As has been stated most copyright theft still isn't
prosecuted.
