It seems that the Apple][ should not need or be able to handle more than 4 concurrent sessions. And reducing the amount of software necessary makes the applications easier to write.
I am just starting to delve into Adams code so I am not sure which direction I am headed in just yet.
Are you looking at just the TCP/IP stacks or are you also looking at Contiki?
