Mystery House - help for this classic Sierra Online Game

I was feeling nostaligic the other day and I found the public domain
version of "Mystery House" from Sierra Online (actually, I think it
was just "Online" back then).

Anyways, I started playing it and I've forgotten something.  Does
anyone know/remember how to get out of the woods after you've looked
into the telescope?  I remember it was a sequence, but can't remember
if I figured it out back then through trial and error, or if there's a
clue that tells you what to do.

Any help would really be appreciated.  Thanks!
