We did that back in the late 70's to early 80's and beyond
from our NC (numerically controlled) machines to first the
terminals, then to computers. In fact the very early NC op'd
Brigeport Milling machine controls needed the terminal. They
had no display for the programming at all. Was fun having
8-10 machines wired to a switch box which we had to manually
select which machine we were interfacing to, man, those were
the days, weren't they? 8o)
