Actually, I believe A2 Desktop was the original OS that shipped with the
first GSs.
Personally, I've found that most 8-bit apps are quite zippy on the GS
whereas a good portion of 16-bit apps (including GS/OS) leave something
to be desired as far as speed goes. That's just my opinion.
I'm likely to be in the minority here, but I think the best way to use a
GS is to treat it like a really fast IIe with extra RAM ;-)
