I think that Microsparc Inc.'s Macrosoft language had an hscrn function that
was coded in assembly and could determine whether a pixel was lit.  Did
anyone ever post the documentation for Macrosoft?

The code is written for use on their macro assembler, but it should be
relatively easy to determine how it works.
