Re: ebay - iigs iie, supply and demand. Thoughts?

That's what got me about that auction. The Apple II had custom slots cut
into the lid, and yet it sets a record price. Stickers, writing can usually
be removed but you can't restore a mod like that back to factory specs. I
got lucky, mine was suppose to be crippled because it came up with errors in
integer basic. The best way to get a good price on popular machines is to
buy a crippled machine and fix it. I bought a IIplus last year for under $20
because the auction claimed bad power supply. Turned out to have a bad 16K
RAM board.

Anybody else noticed the prime time to post is on the weekends? It seems
that most of the good items come out Sat or Sun night. For example, this is
not my auction but people should know about it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2786274580&category=4610&;
sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1

Notice that it doesn't work, it originally had a IIplus lid when he got it
and it has an encoder board style keyboard. Also, notice the color of the
power supply. It doesn't look original. I wonder how much this one will get.
