Which Z-80 card? What kind of
documentation? Many Z-80 cards are
clones of the Microsoft SoftCard.
The SoftCard documentation is divided
into six main parts contained in two
volumes.
1. Introduction
(Volume 1)
Includes Registration, Warranty and
Copyright information, plus an
introduction to the SoftCard system and
to some of the special terms used in
this manual.
2. Soft Card Installation and Operations
(Volume 1)
Read this section before you attempt to
install or use the SoftCard!!! It
explains how to install the SoftCard and
how to bring up CP/M and Microsoft
BASIC. This section includes all the
information you need to get started
using Apple CP/M.
3. Software and Hardware Details
(Volume 1)
Contains detailed information about
Apple CP/M features, including I/O
configuration and assembly language
programming, and the technical
specifications of the SoftCard itself.
4. CP/M Reference Manual
(Volume 1)
Describes features and operation of the
CP/M Operating System, Version 2.2, in
detail.
5. Microsoft BASIC Reference Manual
(Volume 2)
Explains all of the features of
Microsoft BASIC Version 5.0 in detail.
Enumerates the differences between
Applesoft and Microsoft BASIC and
describes the additional features of
GBASIC, a version of Microsoft BASIC
that includes Apple high-resolution
graphics.
6. Software Utilities Manual
(Volume 2)
Includes instructions for using the
software utilities included in the
SoftCard system to format disks; copy
disks; convert a 16-Sector disk to
13-Sector; download programs from other
CP/M systems to the Apple; transfer
Apple DOS files to CP/M; configure CP/M
for a 56K system; and configure I/O for
your particular system and peripherals.
I have scanned in the manuals:
SC-INTRO.PDF 2.85MB (#1,#2)
SC-SWHW.PDF 2.00MB (#3)
SC-CPM.PDF 8.37MB (#4)
SC-MBAS.PDF 7.48MB (#5)
SC-UTIL.PDF 1.72MB (#6)
The INTRO, SWHW, and UTIL manuals are
what an Apple II user needs most. If
anyone wants copies then email me.
The CP/M reference manual can be found
on the web, and MBASIC is very similar
to GW-BASIC for MS-DOS.
