I'm wondering if it's possible to set up my ROM 01 IIgs so that I can
use Appletalk when booting GS/OS. For the most part I'm using it in
8-bit mode with Prosel, but I like to boot GS/OS for back-ups and
copying large amounts of files etc... I'd like to use a Mac Appleshare
server as a remote back-up device.
Here's my current set-up:
Slot 1: Your Card Super Serial Card (printer)
Slot 2: Modem Port Modem
Slot 3: Built-in Text Display Computer Eyes Video Card
Slot 4: Mouse Port
Slot 5: Smart Port 2 x 3.5" + 1 x 5.25"
Slot 6: Disk Port
Slot 7: Your Card Microdrive IDE (6 x 27 MB partitions)
Startup Slot: 7
Obviously AppleTalk will require slot 7 to be set, but do I also have to
pull the SSC from slot 1? If I put the hard drive in slot will it
interfere with the modem? If I put the HD in slot 6 will it kill my
[necessary] 5.25" drive off the smart port?
I know I could determine all this by experimenting, but I'm a little
reluctant to risk damaging anything, especially since my "spare" GS is
not in very good shape.
Thanks (in advance)
