AW5 on //c+

Anyone know why AW5 won't run on my //c+? It boots prodos and gets as
far as the title screen which has three rows of random inverse
characters printed across it.
I've tried a few different copies, all of which work fine on my GS.
Is this a known bug, or should I look for a local explanation?
