It's actually very much like .DSK, but uses a different sector ordering.

I don't think there's a "standard" extension for such images, so most
emulators won't handle them.  CiderPress will convert them, but there's
not much value in using CP2+ format when ShrinkIt is available.

To the original poster: if you just want to copy the disks, use the CP2+
nibble copier.  If you want to make an image without removing the original
copy protection, find a copy of SST (Saltine's Super Transcopy) and make
".nib" images of the disks.
