Don't get me started on that EnergyStar monitor crap.  You know how
annoying it is when you're trying to troubleshoot a system problem and the
monitor keeps turning off when you power-cycle the system, and it takes
just long enough to come back up that you can't see the BIOS screens......

...Or when you can't tell whether you have a power problem, a video card
problem, or just a monitor that refuses to turn itself on.....

Why don't monitors have a power-off disable jumper on them someplace?
