The chips you are looking for are 41256 chips--the "256"
at the end signifies 256Kbits, and the "1" after the 4
means that it is a "x1" or 1-bit wide chip.  Therefore,
eight of them make 256 K bytes.  (Any digits after a
dash indicate speed--e.g.: 41256-15 is 150ns.)

The 41256 number is generic, but some manufacturers
use other numbers for the same part.  You can be sure
that the chips already on the Apple RAM card are, in fact,
256Kx1 DRAMs, or 41256's.  (The number you give, 42516,
seems unlikely to be correct.)
