Re: How many Apple IIs left?

I think I have a copy of that article in my files somewhere. I remember cutting it out when I read it about 10 years ago or so... Maybe it was more like 8 years? Anyhow I'll have a look...

I was wondering how many "live" Apple IIs are left today. That is,
even if they're in closets, how many still working Apple IIs are left?
I mean, every time one gets fried that's one less, without
replacement. More specific still, how many are left in the US and
outside of the US? How many of specific models? Can anyone throw out
an estimate? Any data on this?

Did Apple ever release figures on how many were made/sold?

Charlie

From this web page, Apple sold 5 million units over 17 years.

Does anyone know the date of the article in the Washington Post that was
mentioned on that page or have a copy? I'd be interested to see what kind of
eulogy they gave it.
