This could be first time I've heard that idea suggested. (Usually, users
are looking for ways to connect PC keyboards to Apple II's.)
Of course, if the idea is to stick a PC motherboard in a IIe case ... !
Probably, the easiest approach would be to find a small PC KB-- one with
a main circuit board that will be sure to fit. Open it up, remove the circuit
boards and disconnect the PC keyswitch board. Then, connect up the key switch
board of the IIe KB.
Most likely you'll have to do some trace cutting to set up the IIe
keyswitch matrix right; but, when you were done, you'd have IIe KB on a
for-real PC interface without a lot of hassle. Plus, you could pick what
codes would be sent for keys like Reset and Open-Apple.
Guess you could wire the Reset key directly to the PC motherboard.
Windows would have fits; but, a direct Reset probably wouldn't cause too much
trouble if you're planning on running DOS.
