Oh, everything had a purpose. Though not in the direct sense that a
modern adventure game would have. And you can certainly solve it. I
did.
You might want to search for "Prisoner" as well as "Prisoner 2". As I
recall, they had the same game design, or nearly; the big difference
was that "2" had fancier graphics. (1985 instead of 1980. :-)
I don't believe I've seen a walkthrough. I solved it by looking at the
BASIC source code... which was, I decided, entirely within the spirit
of the game.
