Could be.

Or could it be as on the Lisa...on my Lisa, there is a built-in parallel
port, and an add-in card with two parallel ports.  The proFile can connect
to either the built-in port or to the card.  It seems that the previous
owner connected the proFile to the card, and connected the printer to the
parallel port.

I know very little about the Apple ///, so I honestly don't doubt you
guys.  8-)
