PLEASE HELP: Repair of IIE/IIC Mouses

         REPAIR OF IIE/IIC MOUSES
         ========================

	Help! I have 5-6 IIe/IIc mouses, all with the same fault! They
scroll vertically, but not horizontally. Someone told me that its
indicates a broken wire. But which wire?? Is the break likely to be at the
DB-9 plug, or at the entry point into the mouse's housing?

	I do most of my typing on the IIC+ (I have five of the IIC+!), so
fixing these IIe/IIc mouses is very important to me .... Thanks, Steve

P.S. I am aware that the plural of mouse is mice, but that is true only
for the living type of mouse.
