If so, the hardware and the tapes are in effect already damaged, since
they're considered unusable....

No books from Apple ever contained a disassembly of Integer Basic.
However, it should be quite easy to obtain one from the Apple
monitor. And if the output is "piped" through, say, a serial port
(by e.g. a "Ctrl-P 2" monitor command), it can easily be captured by
another computer. This can of course also be done in an emulator.
