Has anyone tried installing a 65c02 chip in an Apple II+. The Basis is II+
compatible and I am considering the swap, and I have a GTE chip that I can
use. Is there any reason why I should not try this -ie, in the words of a
famous NASCAR driver, will I "hear something smoking" if I try this?
Nop, there should be no smoke.
I'm running a GTE 65SC02 in my A2+ since back when the Chip
was brand new and priced at 15 Bucks :) Never had a single
problem.
With a WDC 65C02 there might be a problem, since Woz did
ground all NC Pins, and one of them got used on the 65C02.
