Just wanted to say that I got my IIgs off the shelf and powered up after
about 3 years of non-use. It's a ROM 3 in a "Woz" case with 5248K RAM,
100 meg hard drive divided into 4 partitions (32, 32, 32, 4) attached to
a CMS 2.0 SCSI controller, System 6.0.1 and ProDOS with loads of
software, a PC Transporter running on a 16 meg MS-DOS hard drive volume
on the SCSI drive, 2 3.5" Apple drives and a 5.25" Dual Drive running on
a card in slot 6. I have a couple of PC drives that used to be
connected to the PCT, but I haven't found them yet.
Everything is working fine, and the date and time is still correct.
What got me interested again was downloading the Pocket //e emulator
that's running just fine on my iPaq Pocket PC. I already have loads
of .DSK images from my ApplePC and AppleWin emulators, so software is no
problem. Pocket //e is actually pretty cool, but there's nothing like
the real thing.
I may get really ambitious in the next few days and break out my
Platinum //e with 2 Dual Drives (4 drives), and go crazy with that.
I always forget how cool these machines were.
