Yes, and it's best to use a PC rather than a Mac for file transfers. That
avoids the whole file forking headache.

As Mike says, a IIgs is also very handy as an intermediary since it can
easily and cheaply work with both disk types. The IIc requires a special
3.5" drive that's somewhat rare- and the IIc has to have the proper ROM
version to work with it.
ShrinkitGS can also handle forked files, which 8 bit Shrinkit can't.

So if you get the chance to pick up a IIgs, it's very useful for working
with file and disk archives.
