486SLC was a Cyrix processor that emulated the 386 but was supposed to have 486SX performance.

Regarding 386sx you are absolutely right... that was however IIRC the last time Intel employed that technique as the 486SX just lacked the FPU (or according to other well informed sources... they were just damaged during production and rebadged ;-) Of course their FPUs were full fledged 486DXs ;-)
