Not necessarily... by the same logic, genes that result in fatal birth
defects should also be self-limiting, but there is ample evidence to the
contrary. Presumably the "gay gene" would be a recessive.
Also, it is not that uncommon for folks to "come out" after marrying and
begetting young, thus propagating said genes.
In the case of 8-bit computers, however, I would say that choosing to be
gay is simply out of the question... it's all down to programming.
