Apple II Desktop

I demoed a few things at KFest last month and I was shocked by how many people
during the presentation and afterward--FOR DAYS--kept asking me questions about
Desktop -- my everyday program launcher. It seems that quite a few Apple II
users never had seen the program and/or never knew that it could run on an
8-bit Apple II.

There was a comment about updating the icons (I like them, myself.), changing
the "Quit" options to something useful on the 8-bits, and my own wishlist about
increasing the number of volumes and files that can be show on the desktop
(ten volumes, and about one hundred ten files now, which is often more than is
in a single sub-directory, so it cannot be opened by Desktop), an option to
close all windows--but the front window, display of time and date on the menu
bar, increasing the file type descriptions from INFO, and adding a graphic
displayer to the desktop accessories for PrintShop, HR and DHR graphics. Even
one that presented small representations of HR and DHR pics would make
identifying them much easier on the desktop.

Time to start tracking down the rest of the MouseDesk and Desktop's teams and
ask nicely for the source code.

I grabed GUI.8.BIT.SHK off of Ground and it works fine untill I choose
Quit from the File menu. In both Apple II Desktop and UltraLaunch GS
chosing Quit drops into monitor. I've tried it on my IIgs and my //c
to the same effect. Is there something wrong with the file? How can I
fix this? >>
