ROM 03 IIGS slot 4 and Mouse in Bard's Tale

Hi all,

In my ROM 03 IIGS, I put a card in slot 4 and set the corresponding
control panel entry to "Your Card".  As I expected with a ROM 03, I
could still use the mouse in GS/OS.  However, I found I could not use
the mouse in Bard's Tale (but can without the card).  Is this how it
is supposed to work?  Can anyone summarize or point me to a summary of
when I can expect ports to function when I am also using the slots?
