It would help to know what differences are observable, if you have them.

Since the sound generation is identical, I presume the difference is in
the speech synthesis...?

Later cards used the SSI-263 chip, which has a couple of bugs that
the earlier SC-01 chip did not have.  I have found it particularly
noticeable after "glottal stops", when a distinct electronic "pop"
is audible with the 263 that was not present with the SC-01.
