To the best of my knowledge, the Apple II was never sold with preinstalled
cards installed. Besides, those cards would have been knocked out of their
sockets during shipping, as I've seen many times with the used systems that
have been mailed to me. Apple wouldn't have done it that way, and if the box
was opened to install the cards, then it wouldn't be an "unopened" system.
Unused would be the more appropriate term in this case, assuming that it
never was used by the previous owner.
My post was meant to poke fun at the seller, and the buyer who might not
know better.
