Hmm... Well you could do it and say you didn't :-)

Almost none of the disk images on Asimov are in the public
domain and they aren't there by permission of the copyright holder.
Nonetheless they aren't going to be taken down, thank goodness.

Gaining formal release of ancient software is impossible in most cases.
If Asimov didn't exist, then we could expect most of the software
archived there to be lost forever at some time in the future.
