Transferring files...
Thanks for all the advice, everybody about the cable!
I tried connecting the cable to the Macintosh, and it refuses to go. I
even, conducted a test to see if the 'communication port' was working and
passed with flying colours. It's a damn nuisance, because I was hoping to
transfer some StuffIt files from my PC to Macintosh Plus. Due to the lack
of support for 720Kb PC disks in "Apple File Exchange" (AFE) programme, I
am forced to transfer files to 800Kb ProDOS disk, which end-up getting lost
during the translation from ProDOS to Macintosh - vice versa is also, true.
The AFE is only good for 'data files' like word processors, spreadsheets,
data bases, text files, etc.
Maybe, the file type on Apple II side is wrong, thus getting handled in
correctly? Or do I save them as a text file and then rename it on the Mac?
I wonder if I would encounter a similar problem with AFE on newer
Macintoshes?
Or do ShrinkIt and StuffIt files, also, get lost during the translation?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
