16-bit with 24-bit address bus. (The 6502 by your spec would have
been a 16-bit CPU. Sorry.)
There may be a way to hang another bag on the side of the '816 and add
a 32-bit mode. WDM anyone? We could make our own CPU!
BTW I have thought about creating a completely new CPU based on a
conflation of the 6502, 68000 and 8086 (!) processor opsets. Perhaps
a test could be to stuff it on a daughtercard with a hard drive
controller and write a 'nix for it. (It would be a 32-bit CPU)
