Goodday everyone,
I am seeking help on getting my Apple II SCSI Rev 'C' to work with SCSI
HDD.
The following is my spec:
1. Apple IIe (platinum) with 64K ram card
2. Apple II SCSI Rev 'C' in slot 4 or 5 (I believe not modded)
3. Apple SSC in slot 2
4. Seagate SCSI external drive (2.1 gb / 4.3gb) terminated
5. Chinook 1.6 (CSU) or Apple SCSI utils
6. ProDos 2.0.3
I tried inserting in slot 4 or 5, tried the 2.1gb or 4.3 gb scsi drive
and still didn't work. I have checked the jumper that it supply term
power to bus (or else the drive won't even spin up). And I have tried
using CSU 1.6 or the Apple SCSI utils.
When I start the IIe with Prodos 2.0.3, the light on the drive kept
blinking (steadily), and I can heard the drive was attempting to read
and nothing else happened. Prodos stopped while booting! The prompt did
not come out.
I tried it with Zip drive, it worked perfectly. So I guess it's not the
SCSI card problem.
Can anyone please share your knowledge on this problem?
Thanks.
Eric
