Well, PS2 incorporated USB ports and thus - you can hook up any USB 
keyboard & Mouse so Sony doesn't have to make special keyboards. Add a 
2.5" Laptop style HD to your PS2 (I believe is also the same style HD as 
used on the Amiga 1200) and an OS such as Linux and it is a full computer.

Just add the HD, OS & Keyboard/Mouse and a USB Zip Drive or CD-RW and Bingo 
a computer.
