I recently had a bad RCA jack connection on my
IIe color composite monitor, so I carefully removed
the back of the case and the plate which holds the
power cable and noticed that the ground ring
had pulled away from the mounting. Next, I took out
my trusty soldering iron and roll of 60/40 solder and
ran a bead around the base of the ground ring at the
mounting. If you try this, be careful to only leave about
1/32" high bead of solder max, otherwise you will not
be able to plug on the cable end all the way, hence not
having a good positive tip connection. It works great.
The picture is now crystal clear and sharp as a tack.
