I don't know for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if
it won't. There is a note in the enhanced IIe boot code
mentioning that the scan for a boot device was modified
to allow booting from non-Disk II drives.

But it doesn't specify when it was modified.
Back when I had a IIe with a LIRON card and a Unidisk 3.5, I could boot off it. PR#5 or IN#5 did the trick.
