I spent many a dollar buying Dysan alignment disks back in the 80's and
90's. I started on 8" Persci and Shugart drives, did hundreds of Apple and
other 5 1/4" drives, and then went to Apple Sony 3.5" drives. I once bought a
large box of new surplus Sony HD head assemblies and made a ton off them. Paid
$15 for a box of 128 heads (11 cents each) Sold 50 right away at $37.50 each
and used the rest to fix HD floppy drives at $79 a pop.

On the 5 1/4 Apple drives, there was the initial mid track alignment, or
"catseye" adjustment, then the track 0 adjustment, and there are 2 pots that
might need adjusting. Always lots of fun. First and foremost on any drive
alignment, adjustment, etc is a complete and thorough cleaning.
